The Little Linksters Association for Junior Golf Development (501c3) is humbled to introduce The Danny Mapes Special Needs Lifetime Memorial Scholarship.
This scholarship, named in the memory of Danny Mapes, is for a deserving youth with special needs that either plays golf now or would like to explore the game.
Scholarship Details
The scholarship will be open to children, ages 7-18 with special needs of a physical, intellectual, cognitive, or other similar nature. Children in the Central Florida area, in roughly a 50-to-100-mile radius of Orlando will have first consideration. However, we encourage any child, from anywhere in the United States to apply…if your child is a great candidate for consideration, we will find a way to make it happen!
The scholarship will be good for life, meaning, the recipient, once chosen, will be afforded instruction, individual and group, equipment as determined as needed, and competition fees covered, if a recipient would like to compete, for as long as they continue to play the game. Certain dollar amount caps will be determined soon per scholarship and will be based on monies on hand for the scholarship fund year over year.

About Danny
Danny was a former Director of Little Linksters GOALS special needs program from 2016-2018. Sadly, Danny passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in December of 2021.
He was born with Spina Bifida but that didn’t stop him from graduating from the Golf Academy of America in 2016 and becoming a successful golf instructor at the McCord Golf Academy in Kissimmee, FL shortly thereafter.

With locations in Central Florida at Wekiva Golf Club, Mount Dora Golf Club, their new “Linksters Golf Lab” indoor studio at Allstars SportPlex in Altamonte Springs, and after-school programs at locations throughout the greater Orlando area, Little Linksters has something for all kids, of all ages and ability levels. At Little Linksters, ALL youth, whether they are new to the game, or have been playing for many years, are encouraged to take part! Golf should have no barriers, and that is a belief held strongly at Little Linksters…all backgrounds are welcome and encouraged to take part! For those that may have financial limitations, please contact Little Linksters…they will find a way to help!
Little Linksters is led by multiple local, State, National and International award-winning PGA Professional, Brendon Elliott. Brendon and his staff are some of the most trusted youth coaches in the game.
